2005 Château Lynch Moussas Pauillac Bordeaux

“With the way Bordeaux's popularity has skyrocketed over the past 20+ years, it is very difficult to find well-aged, ready-to-drink Bordeaux from a good vintage—let alone a 'best-of-century' vintage such as 2005 and under $100? This is a no-brainer!”

2020 Sohm & Kracher Grüner Veltliner Lion Niederosterreich
“Any sommelier will tell you that it's difficult to argue the versatility of Grüner Veltliner with food. When going to battle with the Brussels sprouts, stuffing, green beans, creamed spinach, and other challenging dishes of the holiday table, there isn't a grape I would want more on my side.”

2009 Billecart-Salmon Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon Brut Rosé Champagne
“Billecart remains one of my favorite Grandes Marques because of their winemaking approach (which is aimed at freshness) and their affordability. Case in point: A tête de cuvée rosé bottling for only $250? It's not cheap (for most), but this is absolutely worth the splurge.”

2018 Aldo Conterno Bussia Barolo Piedmont
“Barolo during truffle season is a no-brainer, and so is Aldo Conterno. Aldo threaded the needle of ‘traditional’ and ‘modern’ during the evolutionary era of Barolo; his passion and acumen are carried on by his three sons. 2018 provided unusually accessible, open-knit wines that will be perfect for the holidays!”

2020 Le Clos du Caillou Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Unique Côtes du Rhône
“Clos du Caillou is one of my favorite estates in all the Rhône Valley. Their wines are wildly fragrant, deliciously spicy, and tight-rope a balance of ripeness that the warm Mediterranean region brings, along with freshness and purity of old-vine sources. Much of their estate qualifies for the more prestigious (and sellable) Châteauneuf-du-Pape region, but they do not classify them as such for historic reasons.”
