The symbol echoes the restaurant’s name, ‘EN’, which means ‘circle’ or ‘connection’ in Japanese, affirming the importance of connections among people. The restaurant harvests its own vegetables thanks to close bonds with the farmers in the Kamigamo and Shugakuin Imperial Villa areas; they are picked in the morning, so always arrive vibrant and fresh. A full range of accompaniments are available to join the freshly cooked white rice, and the house makes generous use of them.
