Kimpton’s global expansion continues with the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, an impressively localized boutique-style luxury hotel (complete with lavish Thai-style Harnn spa) by the well-loved American brand. With 362 rooms it’s not small, but its position in Langsuan makes it both convenient and a touch quieter than some city-center hotels, thanks to the nearby green oasis of Lumpini Park. Rooms are plush and visually distinctive, sedately minimalist but livened by well-chosen details and contrasts. A handful of restaurants and bars include Bar.Yard, a rooftop garden bar, and Stock.Room is a “neighborhood grocerant” with a street-food vibe.
