All the Key Hotels in Switzerland: The Full 2025 Selection

The MICHELIN Guide announces top honors for Swiss hotels in 2025.

The result of countless hours of evaluation by MICHELIN Guide Inspectors, our selection of Key hotels in Switzerland spans the country's most glamorous locations and its most overlooked, a collection of hospitality behemoths and little gems that rivals any location in Europe.

Like the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys are our most outstanding hotels. Go straight to the list or check out some of the highlights of the 2025 Swiss Key hotels, below.

The Best Settings in Europe

Many of the top hotels in Switzerland are the magnificent grand dames of the 19th-century. Those that made Inspectors' Key selections in 2025 — among them Two-Key Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa and Lausanne Palace — have kept up with the times, an unrivaled match of historic feeling with modern amenities.

And of course, too much cannot be said for their settings. With Switzerland's combination of Alpine and lakeside treasures, many of the historic hotels find themselves perched among the most spectacular scenery in the world.

Great rooms at Two-Key Beau-Rivage Palace look out over the Alps from private balconies; spaces at Three-Key Carlton Hotel look over Lake St. Moritz.

Head here for every Three-Key in the country in photos.

The Key Ski Resorts

Half of the country's Two and Three Key hotels are located in the mountains, hardly a surprise considering the appeal of the Alps. Set amidst scenes of glaciers and mountain lakes, they're a popular destination for tourists from all over the world in both winter and summer.

In addition to traditional hotels and palaces in St. Moritz or Arosa, find gems in less internationally known locations, such as the Two-Key 7132 Hotel in Vals — with direct access to a thermal spa designed by Swiss star architect Peter Zumthor — or The Capra in Saas-Fee, surrounded by 4,000-meter peaks.

Of the 27 Key ski hotels in Europe with MICHELIN-starred restaurants, Switzerland leads the way with eight.

The Tiniest Keys in Switzerland

Just a small handful of the 87 Key hotels in Switzerland feature 15 rooms or fewer. The advantages of these intimate hotels are obvious: individually attentive service, tranquility and exclusivity. These are the retreats away from the mainstream.

Take the wonderful nine-room, One-Key Schloss Schauenstein, which dates back to the 12th-century and underwent a painstakingly detailed renovation. Or Hotel-Restaurant Valrose, where each of its 12 excellent rooms features views of the mountains. And then there's the intimate LeCrans, with 15 rooms and a One-Star restaurant on-site.

If you're looking to explore other tiny hotels that thrive in the wintertime, we've put together 10 special spots around the world.
