We’re open about our admiration for Europe’s modernist ski lodges — but even so, Lagació Mountain Residence stands out. Too often, when updating the classic Alpine-lodge look, the temptation is to push things too far. When ski hotels start resembling high-altitude nightclubs, it’s easy to forget that warmth — in every sense — is the very essence of a mountain retreat.
Here, the lines are clean yet the textures remain rustic: knotty pine paneling and abstract rugs with a subtle cowhide resemblance ensure the Alpine character is never lost. The result is twenty-four apartments — they prefer the residential term — that feel urbane without ever slipping into urban, thanks also to the Dolomite peaks framed by expansive windows.
The spa, with its focus on recovery as much as relaxation, tends to both muscles and skin. As for dining, the hotel serves breakfast and light snacks during the day, while a partner restaurant provides delivery that doubles as convenient room service — perfect for evenings when you’d rather not cook in your apartment’s kitchen.
