Southern Spain’s Costa del Sol is up there with any of the most pleasant places on Earth, and it’s the setting Accor chose for the first Spanish edition of their SO/ hotel brand — one part high luxury, one part high fashion, and one part local flavor. In the case of SO/ Sotogrande this means a contemporary interpretation of a classic cortijo, or farmhouse hotel, brought into the 21st century with ultra-modern design and comforts, plus an extensive spa and wellness program as well as 27 holes of golf.
Even the “Cosy” rooms find space for a king bed, a private terrace, and conveniences like Nespresso machines and Bluetooth speakers. By the time you’re in the studios, suites, and lofts you’re treated to acres of space, and the VIP suites are nothing short of extravagant. Meanwhile the design, in all categories, is a uniquely memorable mix of contemporary colors, modern furnishings, and echoes of traditional Andalusian architecture.
Food and beverage offerings include a café, a couple of bars and lounges, and a restaurant, Cortijo, that presents the classic side of Andalusian cuisine. It’s joined by Society, a “pop-up” concept that showcases a never-ending succession of well-known chefs and restaurant brands.
