Some of the Four Seasons properties are contemporary, almost verging on modern in style. Not this one. The Four Seasons Buenos Aires starts with a stunning French-style mansion, and runs with it — even in the newer 13-story main building, the interiors are as Belle Epoque as you’re likely to come across, in this hemisphere at least. And it’s this atmosphere, dripping with old-world glamour, as well as the well-oiled Four Seasons hospitality machine, that keeps heads of state and big-spending stars coming back again and again.

Arguably the best way to experience this place is to make like Madonna — or at least Castro — and book that mansion we mentioned, or at least one of its completely over-the top suites. But the suites in the main tower, and even the most standard of standard rooms, are more than adequate for even the most hardened (or softened?) of luxury customers, with marble baths, leather headboards, and far-ranging views of the river and the city — at just thirteen floors, the Four Seasons is no skyscraper, but it’s a good deal taller than its neighbors. Throw in a wealth of opulent events space, a fantastic pool and spa, and a superb Mediterranean restaurant, and you’ve got a luxury hotel for the ages.
