Under Canvas West Yellowstone

The most famous part of Yellowstone National Park is, frankly, a bit over-civilized; away from Old Faithful, though, it gets as wild as you could want. Under Canvas West Yellowstone, set ten minutes from the park’s west entrance, across the Montana state line, is a safari-inspired camp of the variety that’s quickly become synonymous with the Under Canvas name — an experience that’s as luxurious and stylish as any hotel, with all the up-close immediacy of tent camping.

Each of the tented suites comes with hotel-style comforts like full en-suite bathrooms, king beds, West Elm furniture, and wood-burning stoves, and they’re available in combinations that sleep anywhere from two to seven — some feature satellite tents just for the kids.

An on-site restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, using local and seasonal produce, while the grab-and-go selection keeps guests fueled for the day’s adventures, which include just about anything you can do in the Rocky Mountains. Mornings at Under Canvas begin with a yoga session and/or a fine cup of coffee, and in the evening, guests listen to acoustic live music and gather around fire pits for complimentary s’mores.
