Set in a century-old building in the 15th arrondissement’s Saint-Lambert, the Hôtel Ami has had a modern-Danish makeover, and now presents a stylish-yet-humble option to travelers whose taste exceeds their budget. Rich colors contrast with blond wood, and the spaces are enlivened with artworks, crafts, and curios. It’s by no means large, but its indoor-outdoor lounge is a pleasant little gem, and its location is far enough off the tourist track to feel like an authentic slice of modern Parisian city life — and in its low-key friendliness it does justice to its name.
