In fact, the main house was originally built as a retreat for an ailing monk who required frequent seawater treatments. After some serious updating a few years back, Can Simoneta offers accommodations that are far from monastic — without sacrificing the peaceful harmony of the hotel’s natural setting.

Two stone buildings, one which offers more dramatic views over the Mediterranean, house eighteen suites and guest rooms. Elegant furnishings, like romantic four-poster beds and delicate cream-colored linens, contribute to the simple and calming atmosphere. The most desirable quarters feature terraces and huge picture windows; all contain contemporary amenities like satellite televisions, internet connections, and sleek, spacious bathrooms that belie the buildings’ modest heritage.

Can Simoneta, though only an hour’s drive from the Palma airport, is quite secluded — certainly not the place for vacationers looking for round-the-clock activities and nightlife. This sea haven is better suited for leisure-seekers who like to listen to birds and stroll around flowering gardens, and whose idea of an evening out is carrying a few glasses of fruity sangria down the steeply curved cut-into-rocks staircase to watch the sunset from the natural pool near the water’s edge. Candlelit dinners for two are regularly arranged on the cliff’s edge — parents of young children beware — and an all-white restaurant serves up breakfast buffets and lunches in a more relaxed setting. One of the Best Hotel Experiences I’ve Ever Had Our stay at Can Simoneta was truly unforgettable. We had a room at the house on the beach, and the proximity to the water was absolutely perfect. Waking up to the sound of the waves and having the sea just steps away made the experience incredibly special. The entire team at Can Simoneta was exceptional—warm, attentive, and professional. We especially loved the restaurant; the food was outstanding, and the staff made every meal feel like a special occasion. The inclusive breakfast was over the top in the best way—the presentation, variety, and quality were all amazing. The property itself is stunning. The views, the beautifully maintained grounds, and the overall atmosphere were so serene and relaxing. We felt completely at peace and pampered throughout our stay.
