Le Cise itself is a forest, a protected landscape overlooking the Baie de Somme, two hours from Paris; the Hôtel Le Cise stands on a wooded cliffside, overlooking the bay, offering exactly the kind of tranquility you’d expect from a boutique hotel in a nature reserve — the Relais du Silence tag is no empty boast. Its 21 rooms are soothingly contemporary, mixing period architecture and some antique furniture with a modern design sensibility and a restrained color palette. There’s a Finnish sauna, a heated pool, and an outdoor Jacuzzi, and the restaurant, Le Poisson à Hélices, serves locally sourced regional fare with an impressive view of the sea.
