Voco Auckland City Centre adds a dash of cosmopolitan boutique-hotel style to a city whose urban charms are often overshadowed by the surrounding countryside. The hotel occupies one of a pair of downtown towers, which affords its rooms far-ranging views over this low-rise harborside city. Along with its eye-catching good looks it offers some welcome sustainability measures, including bedding made from recycled materials. There’s a gym as well as a partnership with a local bikeshare company, and its Italian trattoria, Mozzarella & Co., is joined by the 38th-floor Bar Albert, officially the highest rooftop bar in town.
