There’s a decidedly French feel to this smart brasserie spread over two floors. Sit downstairs during the week, where the elegant surroundings include a shellfish counter, banquettes and a lovely old jukebox. The more formal, intimate upstairs dining room opens at the weekend. The menu comprises skilfully cooked French-influenced dishes, including sharing options like sole meunière and côte de boeuf. Desserts are a straightforward, classic affair, with choices like chocolate fondant, tarte Tatin and a cracking pecan pie. Head up to The Alligator Bar for a cocktail after dining.
