So it is at Hôtel Le Parc, a boutique hotel that was created as an elegant and practical addition to the celebrated La Table de Franck Putelat. There are just seven of them, and they’re all quiet and refined, outfitted with sophisticated lighting and modern but earthy decor — bearskin rugs, carved wooden chairs, artwork and design objects inspired by nature. Each has a large private terrace facing the surrounding landscape, making the most of the hotel’s leafy location beside Carcassonne’s old ramparts. Bathrooms are spacious and contemporary, with walk-in showers and housemade products, and several suites have private indoor or outdoor Jacuzzis.
