Modern Design & Lively
The Okinawan city of Ishigaki is home to countless conventional hotels, but Seven x Seven Ishigaki is anything but conventional. The concept is “luxury self-hospitality,” meaning a combination of low-touch, low-profile service with high-end comforts — combining the freedom of a good apartment share with the ease of a proper luxury hotel.

Here the design, too, is unconventional, a modern and minimalist look that’s nevertheless welcoming and identifiably local. The standard rooms are comfortable enough, while the deluxes and the suites quickly grow to large proportions; the latter come with extras like private pools or saunas. Nor is the cuisine what you’d expect: not traditional Okinawan fare but a “Latin Italian” hybrid that combines Italian, Spanish, and Mexican flavors.
