One MICHELIN Key · A very special stay
Paris’s Norman Hôtel is named not for Normandy but for the mid-century American artist and designer Norman Ives — and its interiors, in keeping with its namesake’s inspiration, are a tribute to modernist art and design, and to the Paris of the 1960s. It’s set close to the upper end of the Champs-Elysées, but it’s the farthest thing from busy — with just 37 rooms it’s properly boutique-sized.
The rooms are understatedly chic and quietly luxurious, outfitted in refined materials — rosewood headboards, leather chairs, mosaic-lined marble bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling curtains made of natural wool. Large picture windows let in abundant natural light while geometric patterned carpets, abstract sculptures, and eclectic art objects add character. The Terrace Suite has its own rooftop deck facing the Eiffel Tower, while the aptly named Sky Suite has two levels, two bedrooms, and two balconies, both with sunrise views.
Setting an erudite tone is the lobby-level library lounge, with a fireplace, vintage sofas, and a cocktail menu to peruse alongside a collection of art and history books. It’s joined by a modern Thai-French restaurant by the celebrated Chef Thiou — and, soon to open, a spa in partnership with Omnisens.
