Just to the west of the city center, near the banks of the Garonne, in a neighborhood dominated by the Capitole administrative district and its adjacent university, Maison Soclo combines the 18th-century residential charm and 21st-century boutique-hotel style. The rooms are inspired by a French interpretation of British “cosiness,” which here means an orderly visual impression combined with unrefined, homespun textures and surfaces — plus teddy bears. There’s plentiful lounge space in the garden by the poolside, and Gaspard’s Bar serves cocktails and light bites until late in the evening, as well as breakfast the next morning.
