For luxe apartment-style living in the center of Florence, you’ve suddenly got not one but two options: along with Domux Home Repubblica, a pocket-sized four-suite hotel by the Duomo, there’s also Domux Home Ricasoli Luxury Palace. And lest “Luxury Palace” sound a bit over-the top, we assure you — a luxury palace this most definitely is.
Though larger than its sister, it’s still a tiny hotel: just seven suites overlooking Via Ricasoli, next to the Galleria dell’Accademia. While the Repubblica is just about as central as can be, Ricasoli lies just outside the city center proper — this means a slightly more tranquil setting, though you’re still just a few minutes’ walk from the action. And here there’s a bit more room to spread out.
The suites make the most of their space. Three two-room apartments sleep two in high style, with kitchen islands, whirlpool tubs, and stylish modern Italian furniture. The three-room apartments have space for four guests, and add jetted mini-pools and a living room that can be converted into a separate bedroom. And the four-bedroom Uffizi apartment spans a hundred square meters, and includes a shaded private courtyard. Not too shabby. If it’s the full-service luxury-hotel experience you’re after, you may wish to look elsewhere, but for living large and self-sufficiently in central Florence, this is the place to be.
