Set on a spectacular beach on the Andaman side of the Thai mainland, Devasom Khao Lak Beach Resort & Villas is an ultra-luxe seaside resort in the contemporary-classic mold — the style is full of references to local tradition, and though it’s a new build, its architecture includes salvaged elements that are in some cases hundreds of years old. Rooms, suites, and villas come with some luxurious amenities; suites have either a Jacuzzi or plunge pool out on the private balcony, while villas come with their own infinity pool and access straight onto the sands.
The spa, naturally, is serious business, with gym workouts and sessions of Muy Thai boxing, yoga, and Tibetan singing bowl meditation complemented by time in the steam room and a range of beauty treatments, including traditional Thai massages. Restaurant Takola Thai, which has been awarded a Bib Gourmand distinction by The MICHELIN Guide, offers an upscale take on the authentic local cuisine, and Devasom Beach Grill serves up grilled seafood and meats and wood fired pizza in a relaxed beachside setting.
