Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
Set in an old but spruce dining area not far from Pudu wet markets, Heun Kee has been a hit with the locals since it opened in 1985. It’s one of the few remaining venues where you can taste authentic claypot rice cooked over a charcoal stove that delivers smoky aromas and a crispy, lightly-charred crust on the bottom. Its eponymous chicken rice is a must-try and the tender, juicy chicken works magically with Chinese sausage and briny-sweet soy sauce.
