In a tradition that has captivated food enthusiasts and culinary professionals alike, the prestigious ceremony will unveil the latest MICHELIN Star revelations and a number of special individual awards for the Malaysian culinary scene.
The long awaited MICHELIN Guide Ceremony is set to take place on Friday, 17 November 2023, hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony promises to be an extraordinary event, highlighting Kuala Lumpur and Penang’s culinary excellence. The event will begin with an official press conference, offering members of the media an exclusive chance to interact with renowned chefs. Following the press conference, attendees will also enjoy a lunch reception with a delectable selection of dishes presented by MICHELIN Guide recommended food establishments, enhancing the overall experience.
Adding to the excitement, the latest Bib Gourmand selection will be revealed 1 week before the event, which will spotlight restaurants that consistently offer 'good quality, good value cooking'. These establishments, including a mix of restaurants, hawker centre stalls, and street food vendors, represent the diverse and vibrant tapestry of Malaysia's culinary heritage.
All establishments featured in the MICHELIN Guide are selected based on the same stringent criteria used by Michelin inspectors worldwide: quality of the ingredients used; mastery of cooking techniques; the harmony of the flavours; expression of the chef’s personality in the cuisine; and consistency, both over time and across the entire menu.
