The boutique-hotel revolution might be a relatively recent arrival in Nashville, but on the evidence of this 1929-vintage Art Deco beauty, there’s plenty of hotel history in this town. Noelle’s story doesn’t quite stretch uninterrupted back to the Twenties — it reopened in its current incarnation in early 2018 — but it’s a backstory that offers plenty of depth to what is, underneath it all, a thoroughly contemporary luxury boutique hotel.
Its rooms seamlessly blend period styling with modern and contemporary fixtures and furnishings, and there’s more than a little bit of classic luxury to be had, from the hardwood floors and handwoven robes to the custom-scented Red Flower bath products. Classic rooms are spacious enough, Superior Kings spread out even more, and by the time you’re in the suites you’re in sprawling luxury territory — to say nothing of the penthouse, with its two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and its dining room with places for six.
Noelle is a team effort, with a list of contributors as long as a feature film’s credit sequence — local firm Dryden Architecture transformed the space, local roasters Barista Parlor are behind the ground-floor café, and celebrated local chef Dan Herget calls the shots at Makeready Libations and Liberation. And it doesn’t end there — a boutique shop sells clothing and accessories by local makers, and an art gallery displays works by Nashville artists.
