Born in London, refined in New York, and now expanding across the world, the Soho House concept is a modern twist on the classic London members’ club — instead of Victorian gentlemen it caters to men and women from all walks of life, with a particular preference for the glamorous creative industries. In Nashville, of course, that means the music world — not only is Music City full of clubs and live venues, it’s full of musicians and recording professionals as well.

Soho House Nashville makes its home in a Bauhaus-inspired red brick industrial building that must have been the most picturesque sock factory in America; this explains the name of the Sock Room and Terrace, an indoor/outdoor performance space that hosts the lion’s share of the House’s entertainment. This, along with Soho House’s other stylish and vibrant public spaces, is open to members only — the good news, for hotel guests, is that a room key makes you a member for the night.

Those rooms, in typical Soho House style, are no mere afterthought. The style is inimitable, thoroughly contemporary but with plenty of retro influence, and the comforts, though not ostentatious, are quietly on the level of any big-name luxury hotel. Meanwhile those famous public spaces are packed with an incredible collection of contemporary art — not least Club Cecconi’s, the signature Northern Italian restaurant that’s a staple of Soho Houses all around the world.
