It’s clear from the name — and, perhaps, from the vibrant pink of its exterior — that Casa Beatnik Country House isn’t your typical Galician villa-turned-hotel. Here, in Spain’s Rías Baixas wine region, not far from Santiago de Compostela, is a luxury boutique hotel that’s equally dedicated to classic high-end hospitality and chic contemporary fun.
The house’s interiors, inspired by Yves Saint Laurent and the cultures of France, Italy, and Morocco, are riotously eclectic and stuffed with personality. 12 suites are set in the house itself, plus seven luxury yurts and one extraordinary signature suite: The Chapel, whose bedroom sits beneath a double-height domed ceiling in its own building separate from the main house.
Wellness offerings include a handsome heated saltwater pool as well as a spa comprising a pair of Estonian-made Iglusaunas and an open-air gym with views of the estate’s working vineyard. And special attention has been paid to the house’s dining and drinking venues: chef Marcos Campos heads up both Tribu, the ultra-local Galician restaurant, and Bambola, an Italian-accented exploration of the flavors of the Silk Road, while guests and locals mix at the cocktail-focused Tribu Bar & Lounge and the lively Pool House Bar.
