Among the four largest Balearic islands, Formentera has retained the most tranquil atmosphere — and even Casa Pacha, a boutique hotel by the owners of Ibiza’s famous Pacha superclub (among many others), isn’t likely to break the spell. It’s a sensitive development with a warm and organic aesthetic and a vibe that’s bohemian, effortlessly chic, and refreshingly casual. A Mediterranean restaurant and a beachside bar are the sum of the social spaces, and the rooms and suites range from the cozy El Hippie to the expansive rooftop El Cielo. There are larger and more luxurious hotels in the Balearics, to be sure, but few that offer so superbly self-contained an experience.
