Atami Izusan Karaku subverts convention, positioning the reception area on its eighth and uppermost floor, where floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Sagami Bay and a reflecting pool mirrors the sky. This ryokan-style hotel was strategically designed to make the most of its location: one level down from the lobby, a pair of large open-air soaking pools await, and each room has a private terrace with an onsen bath, all facing the same serene views. For further relaxation, the hotel features an indoor circuit of baths and saunas, two minimalist indoor-outdoor lounges, a sushi bar, and a restaurant specializing in seafood served kaiseki-style (in multiple courses).
