The luxury hotel occupies just a small portion of a vast 1,000-acre property, wedged between Lisbon and the Algarve in the beautiful and sparsely populated region of Baixo Alentejo. Guest rooms and suites are housed in a collection of villas generously spread out among the landscape, and while amenities vary greatly — some have fully equipped kitchens and private pools, others have fireplaces, grand pianos, and wide terraces — all are wonderfully elegant yet down-to-earth, taking inspiration from traditional Portuguese architecture with details like terracotta floors and high wood-beamed ceilings.
