On the southern fringes of Puerto Escondido, along the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Casa TO is an architectural statement, and as sustainable as it is visually impactful. With just nine suites it’s a low-key escape, and an austere beauty, almost entirely composed of raw concrete, designed by architect Ludwig Godefroy with just a few economical gestures towards luxe comfort and Oaxacan tradition. Pools wind through circular archways, guests lounge on terraced blocks, and up on the rooftop, restaurant Glou Glou serves seasonal local cuisine complemented by a selection of natural wines. Meanwhile the beach at Playa Zicatela, a highly regarded surf spot, is just a few short blocks away.
