An hour up the Atlantic coast from Biarritz, on the grounds of a 1930s summer camp constructed in a pine grove half a mile from the beach, is the charming 16-room Hotel La Maison de la Prade. The interiors retain a bit of their rustic personality, even as they’ve been redesigned in a contemporary boutique-hotel style, and it still offers a bit of outdoor recreation — there’s a spa and a heated swimming pool on site, and a golf and tennis club right next door.
