Pullman Lima Miraflores

It’s a long story, but Pullman is now an Accor brand, with a worldwide selection of hotels that are both business-oriented and boutique-inspired. The Pullman Lima Miraflores is named for its location — the upscale seaside residential and commercial district of Miraflores, on the city’s south side — and it’s a fine ambassador for its brand, combining eye-catching, locally inspired contemporary design with forward-looking sustainability measures and efficient, personable luxury-hotel service.

The hotel’s distinctive checkerboard façade is a bold addition to the neighborhood, while the green roof is evidence of a commitment to minimizing its environmental impact. With 237 rooms and suites it’s a substantial hotel, and even the humblest rooms spans a generous 30 square meters; at all levels they’re decorated with contemporary furniture and lively, vaguely Bauhaus geometric murals above the headboards.

Six meeting rooms help establish the Pullman’s executive bona fides, but of more interest are the leisure facilities, which include a swimming pool on the rooftop terrace, with a view of the seaside and the city skyline. The hotel’s restaurant is a versatile, open-plan space, as well suited to a proper sit-down dinner as to a working laptop lunch; in addition to the restaurant’s bar, there’s a second one on the terrace, which presumably does brisk business around sunset.
