Towering high above the street in one of the tallest buildings in town, the W Amman cuts a striking figure on the city skyline, its angular steel and glass facade inspired by the rock formations of Petra. The theme continues inside, where a creatively illuminated geometric passageway leads to the front desk — a futuristic take on the winding Siq canyon at the entrance of the ancient city.
Much of the hotel’s bold, larger-than-life design is informed by Jordanian topography and culture, including commissioned artworks by local artists and a vibrant tree-shaped installation crafted from traditional Bedouin textiles. The accommodations are bright and modern with floor-to-ceiling windows and marble bathrooms, their sleek black and white color palette punctuated by colorful patterned fabrics and sculptural light fixtures. Splashy murals by street artist Dina Saadi enliven the rooftop WET deck, with its white-canopied poolside cabanas and views over the downtown district of Al-Abdali.
