The second-generation owner-chef keeps the restaurant’s good name alive. The menu layout encourages the diner to start with kaiseki ryori dishes and end with sushi. The choice of several nimono soup is a delight, while, in true Kyoto style, the chub mackerel bozushi is a perennial favourite. In summer, as the Gion Festival draws near, hamo bozushi joins the bill of fare. The owner-chef achieves an artful blend between the freshness of the toppings and the tender vinegared rice.
