High Road House

162-170 Chiswick High Road, London, UK
14 Rooms
Contemporary Classic & Lively
The newly upscale West London district of Chiswick is home to the 14-room High Road House, which might be the quietest and most low-key of all the worldwide Soho House offerings. From the outside its most distinctive feature is the sidewalk seating for its ground-floor High Road Brasserie; inside you’ll find a slightly Deco-influenced take on the classic Soho House style, and just a hint of a French accent to the décor.

Given the house’s small size there’s no space for full-scale Soho House facilities like a spa and athletic club; you’ll still find Cowshed bath products in the rooms, and for sale in the lobby’s small boutique. Officially, the rooms are limited to the Tiny and Small categories, but the former are quite comfortable enough and the latter find space in the bedrooms for freestanding baths.

In addition to the brasserie there’s a fair amount of common lounge space within the hotel, and the Club menu is served throughout. Contemporary art, much of it by living British artists, lines the walls. And, as in any Soho House location, your fellow guests are drawn from the local artistic and creative industries — this, more than any physical attribute, is the key to the Soho House charm.
