Machiyado Ichiryu
A city-center ryokan isn’t unheard of, but more unusual is one which, like Machiyado Ichiryu, goes quite so modern in its furnishings — although the look is more subtle and sober than flashy. More typical is the presence of a geothermal spring, which feeds both the communal baths and the in-room onsen baths. And where there’s a ryokan, there’s a restaurant serving dishes meticulously crafted from seasonal local ingredients.
