Art Series - The Cullen

Melbourne’s reputation as Australia’s arts-and-culture capital is reinforced by a hotel like Art Series - The Cullen, a strikingly designed boutique hotel just across from Prahran Market, in one of the city’s coolest neighborhoods. It’s dedicated to the late Adam Cullen, whose punk-inspired artworks adorn its spaces alongside designer furniture and cheeky, colorful interior design. All told, though, it’s more welcoming and less aggressive than it may sound, with plentiful comforts in its apartment-style, kitchenette-equipped rooms — and it comes with a pair of fine restaurants, the New York–style Gramercy Bistro and an outpost of Melbourne’s highly regarded HuTong Dumpling Bar.
