Plenty of hotels endeavor to create the ambience of stepping inside a well-designed private residence, but Meson de Malleville doesn’t need to pretend — it was the family home of husband-and-wife founders of Coqui Coqui perfumes. Nestled within the colonial town of Valladolid, the traditional rose-hued exterior is the first sign that this is not your typical hotel. Inside, a well-collected look dominates the public and private spaces. The Master Suite is the room to book, as it comes with a private plunge pool, and while this isn’t the kind of place to expect multiple restaurants, there is an outdoor café for coffee and tea, as well as a boutique.
