Paris probably has enough hotels, but there’s always room for one more at the top. Les Jardins du Faubourg styles itself a five-star boutique hotel, and while you know we’re not great believers in star ratings for hotels, the point is clear enough: small scale, big comforts, and the kind of impeccable style you would expect from a top-flight Parisian boutique hotel.

It’s a Haussmannian townhouse, tucked unassumingly into a quiet side street just off the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a stone’s throw from the Place de La Concorde and the Champs-Elysées, surrounded by luxury retailers, embassies, and grand hotels. Inside, though, it’s anything but unassuming — its contemporary interiors are tastefully glamorous, combining historical architecture with Art Deco gestures and modern colors and artwork.

Meanwhile the spa is downright extravagant, featuring treatments by Olivier Lecocq as well as a jacuzzi, a hammam, and an indoor swimming pool in a towering space with columns and arched ceilings. And the restaurant is a similarly high-powered affair, where chef Bruno Doucet presides over a “bistronomic” kitchen and a lovely garden courtyard bar. In sum, it features all the trappings of a grand hotel, in an intimate and delightfully stylish package — five-star boutique indeed.
