Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking

This restaurant has a long and fascinating history, starting with the building itself (around 300 years old) and continuing with that of the family at the helm, who have been here since 1930 and once provided support for the Royal Marines. The dining room sports a rustic yet tasteful decor with exposed brickwork and contemporary furnishings, while the cuisine focuses on fresh ingredients packed in flavour. We particularly recommend the pappardelle pasta with a duck ragù and a few chopped hazelnuts for extra whoomph.
