Hotel Ketchum, on Main Street in downtown Ketchum, is a prime example — a thorough renovation has left its interiors looking bright, sunny, and contemporary, combining modern furniture and a stylish graphic sensibility with classic rustic textures and materials of the traditional mountain lodge.
It’s clear that it’s meant to appeal to a younger audience than the average mountain lodge, and to that end it’s got a full complement of boutique-hotel services and amenities, from rooms wired with USB charging ports and 50-inch televisions to C.O. Bigelow bath products, high-end beds and linens, and a lobby lounge, re-styled as “the Hangout,” a combination breakfast room, lounge, game room, and café. There’s an outdoor pool and hot tub, as well as an on-site ski and bike shop, and a coin-op laundry for guests — an important consideration for mountain adventurers. A restaurant, a bar, and a café should be open by ski season; until then you’ll have to fuel your summer expeditions with the plentiful offerings of downtown Ketchum.
