On the north side of Strasbourg, in a remarkably green corner of town, lies a petite five-room hotel in a half-timbered building that looks like a gingerbread house with extra icing — the fact that it’s owned and operated by a pastry chef is almost too perfect to be true. The rooms are floral-themed, all of them as strikingly contemporary as the house’s exteriors are historical, and they’re full of luxe modern comforts; some come with fireplaces or freestanding bathtubs. All include in-room espresso makers, a prélude to a lavish breakfast served either en-suite or at the buffet downstairs.
