The concept behind Okko, a small chain of four-star hotels with a dozen locations across France, is both style-conscious and practical: the check-in process is virtual, guest rooms are good-looking and functional, and lots of little things, from on-demand movies to happy hour snacks, are complimentary. Okko Hotels Nantes Château, in the center of Nantes, follows the format. The look is sleek and Scandinavian, with guest rooms featuring custom Coco-Mat beds with Italian linen sheets, nice workspaces, luxurious bathrooms with organic cotton towels, and Nespresso machines. Tea, coffee, and fruit are on offer 24 hours a day at the Club, a venue that also hosts an Italian-inspired aperitivo, complete with a gourmet spread of antipasti and wine on the house, every evening. Needless to say, access to the wellness center’s gym and sauna is free, too, and the train station is conveniently located a short walk away.
