Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk isn’t the only Egyptian-themed landmark in Wafi City — see also Wafi Mall and Raffles Dubai — but it might be the most striking, with its skyscraping obelisk form. Inside, however, Sofitel’s flagship Middle Eastern hotel pays homage to French art de vivre rather than ancient Egypt. Elegantly understated rooms blend creamy hues, dark wood, and Art Deco design touches, and fabulous views look across the Dubai skyline. The MICHELIN-recommended Brasserie Boulud is the star among the hotel’s mix of French, Japanese, and British restaurants. There’s a French touch to the spa, too, with massages by L’Occitane as well as a hammam and an outdoor pool.
