There are certain features you can expect at any Raffles hotel; among them are personal butlers, a world-class spa, and a glamorous bar serving riffs on the Singapore Sling, a nod to the brand’s flagship location and the signature cocktail invented there. Raffles Bali is no exception — here, butlers double as private buggy drivers, the spa specializes in energy healing, and the house cocktail is the arak-based Bali Sling. This Indonesian expression of the Raffles template works beautifully, in no small part because of the resort’s stunning location on the Bukit Peninsula overlooking Jimbaran Bay — but also due to the thought and care that’s clearly gone into the hotel’s elegant design.
Spread out on a grassy expanse that slopes downward to the sea is a collection of villas with private pools, tropical gardens, and water views. The aesthetic is modern Balinese — high vaulted ceilings, dark wood floors, teak furniture, batik fabrics — and each has a lavishly appointed bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers and a soaking tub. The three- and four-bedroom villas are incredibly roomy, and a single hilltop villa offers supreme sunset views. Nearby, at the property’s highest point, is the Writers Bar; below, a beachfront infinity pool and an open-air restaurant.
