Built in the 1890s, the house later sheltered Basque refugees and Jewish children during the war before becoming a disco, a pub, and eventually a family home. Its seven bedrooms are richly detailed, with velvet curtains, turret bathtubs, and views that stretch across the Kent hills. The setting is peaceful, the welcome sincere, and the view worth pausing for.
