Sitting by the banks of the Goulburn River, The Mitchelton Hotel Nagambie makes a striking sight amongst the sprawling vineyards of the Mitchelton Winery Estate. Australian design duo Hecker Guthrie imagined the hotel’s graphic blocky structure as a modern ode to nature, with rooms dressed in elegant shades of grey, tactile materials and timber accents to create a harmonious link with the natural surroundings, which can be enjoyed from balconies overlooking the river or vineywards. The Muse Restaurant offers a self-described “paddock-to-plate” menu that celebrates local Goulburn Valley produce, and guests can even go out and catch their own dinner in the next-door river. The spa offers a complete wellness experience with gym, outdoor infinity pool, and natural plant-based treatments. Book a massage al fresco for more panoramic views.
