Quietly tucked away on a cobbled street in Gjirokastër’s old town is N’SOKAK, a 19th century former family home now transformed into an intimate boutique hotel. A sensitive restoration has retained the building’s historic stone walls and wooden beams, which have been smoothly blended with neutral tones and dark wood furnishings in the four guest rooms. The homemade breakfast offers an authentic taste of Albania, the doughnuts for example are made fresh each morning with local produce, while the in-house chef can prepare seasonal dinners to be enjoyed after a drink in the bar or on the hotel terrace.
