The Maybourne is just about as Beverly Hills as they come, eight floors of classic Californian luxury, paying direct homage to Hollywood’s heyday, right in the heart of the Golden Triangle. The property is the namesake of the Maybourne Hotel Group, joining Claridge’s, The Berkeley, and The Connaught, all members in good standing of the top tier of classic London luxury hotels.
It’s prestigious company to be in, and while you won’t mistake the design or the setting for Mayfair, the standard of service is extraordinarily high. The interiors are every bit as elegant as those of the Maybourne’s English sister hotels, though they’re obviously Californian through and through, in a warm and sunny Art Deco–influenced style. As for the comforts, they’re pure 21st-century luxury, and the spa and rooftop pool cement the hotel’s pleasure-palace status.
Meanwhile, the dining and drinking options at the Terrace restaurant are as impressive as ever, offering California-inspired cuisine and handcrafted cocktails. It’s not the only high-end luxury hotel in Beverly Hills, but for its particular devotees, it may as well be.
