This Winter Park gastropub came to be thanks to the vision of noted restaurateurs Julie and James Petrakis. Housed right beside their eponymous brewery, the space exudes a moody, industrial vibe by way of charcoal hues, rustic wood accents and a gray ceiling marked by exposed ductwork. Chef Clay Miller's menu is a bona fide study of classic pub fare with creative Southern spins—at brunch, expect chicken and waffles, bourbon shrimp and grits, and French toast.

In operation for more than a decade, Maxine and Kirt Earhart's Colonialtown charmer is everyone's favorite neighborhood hangout. Crowds spill out in front during the weekend for brunch, thanks to a host of comforting dishes that soothe and satisfy. Think plates of fried green tomatoes, flaky crab cakes, and of course, chicken and waffles.

Go to Japan for brunch by way of chef/owner Sean "Sonny" Nguyen's trendy ramen haven. Creations, like the Ritchie Rich and Curry, are full of bold, memorable flavors and certainly worth a slurp. Tokyo ramen with shoyu chicken broth, fried chicken thigh and duck fat is a sensory feat. Couple it with blistered shishitos for a delicious touch—and bit of crunch.

A large sign just off the street signals the entrance to this bakery-café. Its bright green structure is hard to miss; inside, diners will discover a large space with wood paneling, sleek columns and a corrugated metal ceiling. Another wall decked with Bundt cake pans makes for a cool design feature. This is an undoubtedly inviting spot, with a friendly staff that churns out hearty American-Southern dishes in big portions and small prices.
