This terrific Cuban diner in Coconut Grove, fitted with dangling greenery and cozy booths, serves breakfast and brunch daily until 5pm. The warm, flaky pastry alone will guarantee a return visit.

This Design District pioneer is as popular now as it was when it first debuted almost 15 years ago. The courtyard is a lovely place to linger, thanks to its lush greenery. The menu focuses on unfussy yet skillful cooking. Brunch plates like crispy octopus taquitos, breakfast pizza with bacon and fontina, and kimchi eggs Benedict keep fans returning.

Nestled on a busy street and flanked by tables out on the sidewalk, the interior—albeit small—is quaint and laid-back, featuring a counter with views of the open kitchen. The compact menu is a veritable tome of interesting and original takes on deli classics. Jewban is a playful, Jewish-inspired version of the Cuban; and starters, like latkes, arrive topped with spicy tuna and sriracha-cream cheese. From there, expect a few platters, pancakes done in various ways, and meat-focused sandwiches.

Los Félix

This is highly creative Mexican cooking that sends guests on a gustatory trip—at the hands of servers who are armed with ample information about the provenance of each ingredient. Recent brunch highlights have included a masa pancake with seasonal jam, blue corn arepas with eggs, and the classic huevos rancheros.

Zak The Baker
