Lately Montauk has seen a major resurgence as a travel destination, especially in summertime, when the outer reaches of Long Island seem to be covered in revelers who are doing their best to re-enact the Great Gatsby for the new Gilded Age. In some ways, Hero Beach Club is part of this wave of new arrivals, but with some distinct differences. For one thing, it’s open year-round, long after the party ends at its nearby neighbors.
But perhaps more importantly, at Hero Beach Club, the party never really gets started, in summer or winter — it’s not an anti-social place, but it is a tranquil place, a proper getaway, not just the Long Island summertime version of some Manhattan club night. This repurposed motel features rooms that prize coziness above glamour, though they’re not at all unstylish, with a contemporary cool and just a bit of a tropical accent.
Public spaces include the garden/lawn, with its fire pits and cabana seating, as well as the pool deck and Umbrella Beach. Bikes and paddle boards are available for guest use, as are yoga classes, and the hotel is happy to arrange further activities, from surf lessons to fishing expeditions. Which is not to say you’re under any obligation to do much of anything at all....

- The reception desk is open daily from 9am to 10pm. If you plan to arrive later than 10pm please arrange in advance.
- You must be 21 years or older to be able to check in into the hotel. A Valid picture ID and a valid method of payment is required. The credit card Holder must be present at time of check in.
- Hero Beach Club is 100% non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the hotel, including public areas. Should it be determined that smoking has taken place in a guestroom, the hotel will charge a $250.00 non-refundable cleaning fee, placed on the guest folio before or after check-out.
- Room rates are listed for single / double occupancy. Additional adults sharing a room will incur a charge of $30 per night, per person, up to four in a room.
- Hero Beach Club is 100% compliant with the American’s With Disabilities Act (ADA). The hotel offers 2 accessible rooms. Please ensure requests reach us by placing it in the comments section of the online reservation form.
- Roll Away Beds and Connecting Rooms Request: Twin high-rise Air mattress are available for an extra charge of $40 per night plus tax (fee is in addition to 3rd person fee if required). Room type must fit rollaway (note: queen Standard/Ocean Front/Double rooms do not accommodate a rollaway) and requests must be confirmed with property directly.
- Connecting rooms are not available, Hero Beach does not have connecting rooms in the hotel. However; the property does have a two and a three-bedroom suite.
- Children 12 and under are free if using existing bedding. Rollaway fee will apply if required (note: queen Standard/Ocean Front/Double rooms do not accommodate a rollaway)
- The outdoor heated swimming pool is located on ground level. The pool is open from 8am to 8pm. No lifeguard is on duty. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Hero bikes and beach paddle boards are complimentary to Hero Resort hotel guests. Please see the front desk for assistance. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
